Now Is The Time To Secure The Leader’s Physical Freedom

We extend our congratulations on the 77th birthday of Leader Ocalan to all women, all peoples, and all communalist comrades waging the struggle for democracy and freedom. In the memory of our April 4 martyrs, comrades Mahsum Karaoğlan and Mustafa Dağ, we commemorate all the martyrs of the revolution and of democracy, and we pledge to fulfill their dreams of a free life under the leadership of Leader Ocalan.

With his February 27 ‘Call for Peace and a Democratic Society,’ Leader Ocalan heralds the awakening and rebirth of humanity toward a free life through the perspective of communal living and a democratic society, in opposition to this vast system of war being waged by the caste-based murderers against society and women. In our region, which has served as a cradle of humanity throughout history, the freedoms and free life envisioned by Leader Ocalan are closer than ever before.

The presence and physical freedom of Leader Ocalan—the architect and incomparable comrade of the women’s freedom struggle—embody an eternal bond with our own existence and freedom as women. In this sense, the birth of the leader is the rebirth of our freedom as women. Our relentless struggle for freedom, waged tirelessly for 52 years, is bringing about a renaissance for humanity under the leadership of our women’s revolution. All women committed to the love of freedom and the struggle for freedom—whether in the mountains, the fields, or the cities—must become the pioneers and guarantors of true freedom and the democratic communal system.

The sole condition for the transition to a free life lies in the physical freedom of Leader Ocalan and the success of the February 27 call. The first phase of the process has been completed through the steps taken by our freedom movement and Leader Ocalan’s great struggle. Now, we have moved on to the second phase, which includes the realization of the right to hope and securing Leader Ocalan’s physical freedom and removing the obstacles preventing him from leading the process. We call on the Turkish state, its political leadership, and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to assume their historical responsibility toward the peoples and to fulfill the requirements of the Consensus on Peace and a Democratic Society. Laws on freedom and democratic integration—necessary for the inclusion of the Kurdish people within the framework of legal and constitutional law and for their participation as an integral element of the Democratic Republic of Turkey—must be enacted without further delay.

NOW IS THE TIME TO SECURE THE LEADER’S PHYSICAL FREEDOM.

We call upon all our people and especially women: Let us intensify our struggle to secure the leader’s physical freedom and build a communal society—without expecting anything from the state or any other power—to crown this process, initiated by Leader Ocalan, with victory. Let us organize the spirit of democratic national unity, secure the status of the Kurds, and bring the philosophy of Jin Jiyan Azadî to life. On this basis, to realize our longing for a free life alongside the leadership, we say, “Now is the time for women; now is the time to secure the physical freedom of the leadership.” With this spirit, let us fill the streets on April 4 and shout the slogan “Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe.” We call on all women and our people from every corner of Kurdistan and Turkey to join the freedom actions in Amara and Gemlik—on this day of honor and rebirth into freedom—and to intensify the struggle to secure the physical freedom of our leadership.

On this occasion, we once again celebrate with great longing the birthday of our leadership—the very reason for our existence—and we celebrate the free actions of all our people, women, and youth who have filled the streets from February 15 through March 8, Newroz, and April 4, their hearts overflowing with love for our leadership.
