The 9th of October 1998 marked one of the major turning points in the history of the genocide schemes against Kurdistan. The global alliance of international and regional powers that paved the way for the Kurdish genocide has gone down in history as one of the dirtiest and most dangerous alliances and conspiracies in the history of the Middle East and the world. Abdullah Ocalan, who was captured as the conspiracy unfolded, has been held under unprecedented conditions on Imrali Island for 28 years and has mounted an unparalleled resistance against these conditions and his captivity. We first salute Leader Ocalan for this resistance, which enlightens us, strengthens us and guides us, and we renew our pledge and determination to bring the struggle for freedom and democracy to success along Ocalan\u2019s path.<\/p>\n
Beginning on 9 October, thousands of our martyrs formed a circle of fire and blood around Leader Ocalan in an effort to thwart this conspiracy. Throughout almost every day of this 28-year conspiracy, many people have fallen martyr. Each of our martyrs is a symbol and a great value of the struggle against this conspiracy. Every martyr, whom we commemorate with respect and gratitude, has illuminated our path and left us the values of humanity for which they sacrificed themselves. As those who remain, it is now our turn to carry this great and sacred legacy towards construction, liberation and success. Successfully fulfilling this great task is our pledge to Leader Ocalan and our martyrs and reflects our determination. The path to success begins, above all, with Ocalan\u2019s physical freedom. Without forgetting this reality for even a moment, defeating the 9 October conspiracy and transforming the circle of fire that our martyrs formed around the Leader into a circle of freedom stand before us as a duty to humanity. Both the process of democratic integration and the long-term struggle for democratic socialism depend on this in order to gain momentum.<\/p>\n
The whole world is in a ring of fire<\/strong><\/p>\n As this international conspiracy enters its 28th year, not only the Middle East but the entire world is engulfed in a ring of fire. During such a time, reassessing and analyzing the conspiracy and taking action is no longer an issue solely relating the Kurds and forces engaged in revolutionary struggle. The political and social earthquake caused by the international conspiracy launched 28 years ago against Abdullah Ocalan, the leading figure of Democratic Modernity, no longer affects only the Kurds, but the entire Middle East and the world. As capitalist modernity sought to redesign the world in the 1990s, following the collapse of real socialism, it also sought to erase everything associated with socialism from humanity\u2019s collective memory.<\/p>\n The system of capitalist modernity, seeing Leader Ocalan\u2019s historic role and influence and regarding him as a threat to its interests, developed the international conspiracy against him. In this sense, the purpose and consequences of the 9 October international conspiracy are becoming clearer with each passing day. The 9 October conspiracy was not confined to a particular period or place. It became permanent and has continued as a destructive mentality and method directed against all peoples and women. Looking at developments over just the past five years, from Latin America to the Middle East, makes the gravity of the situation clearer. Global capital seeks to ensure its own continuity by keeping forces it cannot control trapped in a spiral of war through conspiracies. Leader Ocalan, in response, has acted with historical and strategic foresight. Above all, he has stressed the need to defend social existence under the threat of destruction, demonstrating that liberation cannot be achieved by any one entity alone. He conceptualized this reality as democratic integration, further strengthening relations among peoples and social forces. Drawing from historical experience, he reformulated communalism in the form of Democratic Modernity and presented democratic integration as its political formula. By countering each emerging conspiracy with a new strategy for a solution, the Leader has sought to break not only the established patterns of the capitalist system but also those of the social forces struggling against capitalism, thereby preventing new conspiracies, and has waged a relentless struggle in this regard.<\/p>\n The Leader must immediately be freed<\/strong><\/p>\n Just as the conspiracy against Leader Ocalan has not remained an isolated case but is now being imposed on humanity and women as a whole, Ocalan\u2019s freedom will likewise have impacts far beyond himself and pave the way for solutions to many of the crises facing humanity and women.<\/p>\n Leader Ocalan, the architect of the \u201cPeace and Democratic Society Process,\u201d must be freed immediately, and the legal and political conditions necessary for him to participate in democratic politics must be established. There is only one interlocutor for the peace and fraternity that could develop in Turkey, and that is Ocalan. It is essential that the Leader, whose role is known and recognized by everyone, be physically free. This is indispensable.<\/p>\n The conditions must be created for the Leader to play a coordinating role within the committee established under the law, to meet with all sections of society, particularly journalists and academics, to ensure that his views can reach all sections of society and that he can maintain relations with his organization. His status of captivity must be ended in its entirety, and healthy and security conditions must be established for him as a leading figure in democratic politics.<\/p>\n Once again, we have never accepted and will never accept the reality of the 9 October conspiracy or the deadlock, crisis and lack of status it has created.
